Dena Fischer is a writer, editor, and social media and communications consultant with a broad range of experience and a knack for rooting out misplaced words. After nearly two decades helping writers perfect their work in both the film business and the publishing industry, she has developed the analytic and creative skills to tell a succinct and dynamic story–whether fiction or about the changes a nonprofit affects. Her writing and editorial abilities have helped raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for public education, launch the new Laguna Honda Hospital, and shape marketing and communications for a variety of entrepreneurs. Dena holds a B.A. in English Literature from University of California, Los Angeles.
Michael Gharabiklou is a technology consultant with experience in nonprofit website design and development, online media publishing, e-commerce, map integration, travel-booking engines, and children’s learning products. As a Senior Web Project Leader at Mission Minded, Michael focuses on user experience (UX) design, information architecture, and content management system (CMS) implementation. Zack Kushner is an award-winning professional writer and project manager who crafts Web, marketing, and creative copy for clients ranging from the San Francisco Symphony to MSN. His experiences in public relations, non-profits, and in Hollywood provide a secure platform for his precise, insightful work. He ran the official blog for Live Earth, wrote web and marketing materials for SFpark, published a Sunday New York Times crossword puzzle, and won the SOLAS Award for the funniest travel article.
Ty Lindemans is a San Francisco–based graphic designer who has been creating vivid and engaging work for over 12 years. Previous clients include Shipyard Trust for the Arts, Rutgers University, Princeton University, Newark Museum, the Shore Institute of the Contemporary Arts, and Virgin Mobile USA. Ty finds inspiration in bold colors, geometry, modernism, vintage typography, architecture, and nature. He majored in Graphic Design Communication at Philadelphia University.
Manjula Martin is a writer, editor, and communications consultant who helps clients share their stories in traditional and new media. She began her career in journalism as a reporter for POZ, a national monthly magazine for people affected by HIV and AIDS. Recently she has created marketing campaigns and publications for KQED Public Media, American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.), and The Jewish Community Center of San Francisco. Hope Meng is a graphic designer, problem-solver, and collaborator. In her work, she strives to develop solutions that are unique, sensitive, and thought-provoking. With undergraduate degrees in both Graphic Design (California College of the Arts, 2007) and Economics (UC Berkeley, 2004), she embodies a certain amount of contradiction: creative yet pragmatic, imaginative yet focused, adventurous yet organized. Former clients include the California Academy of Sciences, Chronicle Books, California College of the Arts, ODC, and Yerba Buena Center for the Arts.
Felicia Mello is a writer and editor specializing in labor, social justice, and the environment. Her work has been published in The Boston Globe, Los Angeles Times Magazine, and Salon.com, among others. She speaks Spanish fluently and has reported from Central and South America. She holds a Master’s degree in Journalism from the University of California, Berkeley and a Bachelor’s degree in Politics from Oberlin College.
Nicole Parizeau is a multidisciplinary writer and editor with a focus on marine and earth sciences. She was formerly associate director at California's Marine Mammal Center, senior editor at Whole Earth Magazine, and principal editor for University of California, Berkeley's GEMS program. Dan Rosenthal has been a software engineer for more than 10 years, specializing in ColdFusion and database programming. He has worked on many high-profile websites for companies such as Autobytel, El Pollo Loco, and Best Buy. His coding is impeccable, except for the occasional cat-walking-across-the-keyboard incidents.
Jen Sarche, MPH serves as a senior strategic consultant with Mission Minded. With deep experience in public health outreach campaigns, Jen brings relevant, high-level HIV, health, and public education experience to this challenge. As the Director of Community Education in the San Francisco Department of Public Health's HIV Research Section, Jen was charged with motivating healthy, 18- to 45-year-old, HIV-negative men who have sex with men, to participate in preventive HIV vaccine trials.Read more
Amy Weiher has more than 15 years experience in graphic design, creating award-winning projects for wide range of clients. Amy is professional, meticulous, and passionate about her work and has extensive experience designing for arts, education, and nonprofit clients. As part of Mission Minded’s design studio, Amy brings a special talent for understanding how to creatively achieve the most with each client’s budget. She is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and the Tyler School of Art.
Heath Wickline has spent most of the past decade helping nonprofits figure out who they need to be talking to, what to say, and how to do it with clarity, forcefulness, and style—all while staying within their budgets. Most recently, Heath worked as Senior Account Manager at Underground Advertising. Prior to joining Underground, he served as Director of the SPIN Project, a nonprofit communications capacity-building organization. Read more
Paul Ziller has more than 15 years of experience as an art director and designer in the Bay Area. He creates evocative and effective branding, design communications, and interactive experiences. Clients have included VeriSign, Genentech, San Francisco Ballet, San Francisco Opera, Teatro Zinzanni, and Robert Mondavi Winery. He graduated cum laude from the University of Cincinnati, School of DAAP, College of Graphic Design. He is also a frequent performer on local stages.
